monday the 5th of nov!

so the past two weeks i was a bit lazy, and was kind of a bit confused and disappointed with how my progress review went, however took it with a pinch of salt and aimed to start doing alot more. i could see where my tutors were coming from and i took there advice on board.

i decided to write up a plan of what to do for the week so that i could become more organised with my work. So far this has worked pretty well, i was happy with the amount of work i did today and they didnt turn out half bad. in the morning i decided to mess around with plaster, i got a piece of light fabric and dipped it into plaster, i then poured more onto it and placed coricated cardboard over it to get a texture, i wasnt too pleased at the start with how it turned out but once i brought it up to the studio i begun tearing away the plaster so all that was left was the fabic which had a nice rough texture and i left a bit of the plaster which looked quite good in the end

i then got liquid latex and started experimenting with that. Once you get over the spell its actually pretty fub to work with and has works well with a varity of different materials. i poured it onto a blank sheet in my sketch pad to see how it would feel left on its on, its its still a work in progress, takes ages to dry!) it looked pretty cool, however a bit of material feel onto it while it was drying and left a bit of a impression, but it worked out for the best i think. I then dippped fabric into the latec and spread it accoss a sheet, i liked how this turned before it made a really good texture, you wouldnt think to look at it that it feels the way it does which was kind of the look i was going for. Since this worked quite well i got a bigger piece of light fabric and saturated it in the latex, once it had soaked most the latex i placed it down over a sheet and pressed cardboard onto it to get a better texture, once it had dried a bit i peeled off the cardboard and scrunched it up to create even more texture. i will then hand it from my studio space when it has fully dried to make a sculpture.

 not too pleasing on the eyes... or nose for that matter, but i think it looks and feels interesting

this was a really fluffy, soft fabric so wanted to see how it would feel with liquid latex, i shall find out in the morning.

)

once dried i decided to paint it, the colour of the latex once dry wasnt too visually appealing
